The Leeds Muslim College (LMC) was established in January 2006 originally to provide religious education for Muslim Community, since its creation the college has gone from strength to strength with its educational programmes. Presently the Islamic and Theology departments offer a range of evening course for children aged from 3 – 19 years old. From nursery to A-levels.
While Leeds Muslim College aims to keep courses affordable, there are still many students legitimately unable to pay for courses. Generally, deadlines for financial aid applications are a month before the beginning of the Academic year. We have been receiving requests for discounted rates in student fees, Alhamdulillah we have been able to do so by offering discounted rates for parents who are on benefits or can prove they are in receipt of benefits at the discretion of the College.
The College endeavours to provide affordable Islamic education for Muslim students who study Qur’anic and Islamic studies in the evenings but to do so, the Muslim Society of Leeds (MSL) needs to raise at least £30,000 a year to pay for qualified Muslim teachers, who will teach in a systematic teaching strategy adopted by MSL.
Leeds Muslim College wants to offers online/ distance learning courses covering a wide range of religious subjects including beliefs, law, Arabic, Hadith and Qur'anic exegesis. It is our conviction that the student-teacher relationship is the core of traditional Islamic education. Accordingly, Leeds Muslim College courses will make use of the latest e-learning tools to facilitate directly learning from qualified teachers via the internet if and when possible. We also believe that access to Leeds Muslim College courses should be available to everyone, whether they can afford the tuition fee or not.
Your contributions will help us provide need-based financial aid, grant scholarships to deserving recipients, and provide special tuition breaks to new Muslims and full-time students.
